Welcome to The Highlands

The Highlands is an association of independent practitioners located at 229 W. Foster Avenue, in the historic Highlands district of State College. Since 1994 we have provided psychological services for adults and adolescents in a renovated 1920’s house within walking distance of campus. Our diverse group of practitioners includes twelve licensed psychologists. Therapists specialize in treating a variety of issues including those related to depression, anxiety, eating disorders, life transitions, grief and loss, interpersonal problems, sexual orientation, and recovery from the effects of trauma.

Although we share building space and some business expenses, each practice within our association is separate. Each therapist is personally, ethically and legally bound to treat all information shared in therapy as confidential and to maintain separate client records. Each is solely responsible for the treatment of his or her clients.

Our office is at the corner of S. Burrowes Street and W. Foster Avenue, and is within walking distance of the Penn State campus. On-street parking is available on Burrowes Street, and the Fraser Street parking garage is nearby.
